At no time in the history of tourism has there been a greater focus on the role tourism can play in sustainability and conservation. Beyond the direct sectoral interest of ecotourism, conservation tourism includes the conservation interactions ofall tourism sectors.

Public and private protected area tourism, fauna parks and zoos, climate change initiatives and best practice sustainability all have a place in the agenda of this workshop. Creating a competitve edge for the tourism industry in conservation efforts has both business and environmental positives.
