Brisbane Climate
Brisbane has bright, sunny days and some balmy nights as it is a subtropical city. It's quite warm in summer and mild in winter. Average Temperatures: Summer: 29C maximum (84F), 21C minimum (70F); Winter: 22C maximum (72F), 10C minimum (50F)

Directions from the Airport
Brisbane Airport is located approximately 15-20 minutes drive (13 km) from Brisbane CBD.

  • From the International and Domestic Airports - Take all signs to the city which will bring you through Fortitude Valley and into Ann Street.
  • From Ann Street turn right into Roma Street at the Carlton Crest Hotel, from Roma Street, left into Saul Street, which is almost opposite the Roma Street Transit Centre, this will take you onto the William Jolly/Grey Street Bridge.
  • Using the right lane and take the first chance to turn right off the bridge, this is Peel Street. Turn left into Merrivale Street at lights, then left onto Ernest Street.
  • The conference rooms are in the Southbank Institute of Technology on your right.

Taxi ranks are conveniently located at both the International and Domestic Terminal. At the Domestic Terminal, the taxi rank can be found in front of the terminal. At the International Terminal, the taxi rank is located the northern end of Arrivals on Level 2.

Airtrain
Travel Brisbane City to/from the Airport in 22 minutes.
From 5 am to 7.59 pm daily, 7 days per week.
The Airtrain departs every 15 minutes during peak hours.

Parking at the Venue
There is on-street parking in and around the campus. There are several commercial parking facilities within walking distance, including South Bank Parklands two blocks away. See Southbank Precinct Map for specific locations of commercial parking facilities.

Public Transport

Buses
Bus timetables, maps and fare information are available at http://www.translink.com.au/buses.php. Southbank Institute of Technology is situated directly opposite Southbank Busway Station.

Trains
Train timetables, maps and fare information are available at http://www.translink.com.au/trains.php. Southbank Institute of Technology is situated half a block from Southbank Railway Station.

Onsite Registration
On Site Registration will be located on the conferencing floor on the first level.

The registration desk is open during the following hours:
Sunday, 4 July from 3pm - 5pm
Monday, 5 July from 7am - 5pm
Tuesday, 6 July from 7am - 5pm
Wednesday, 7 July from 7am - 5pm

At the registration desk you will receive the following items: name badge, delegate satchel incl. the delegate handbook, a floorplan and the final Forum room confirmation.

Conference Dress Code

The conference dress code is business casual, suits can be worn but are not necessary. Networking functions dress codes are listed below.

  • Getting There: Train (South Brisbane Railway Station), Bus (Cultural Centre Busway Station), or Taxi. Walking to GoMA takes under 20 minutes from most central city/Southbank locations.
  • Inclusions: Canapés, sunset drinks, Private Gallery viewing
  • Dress: Business casual
  • Notes: the sunset viewing commences on the GoMA Pavillion Balcony so you might need a jacket for the start of the Champagne welcome

Monday 5 July 2010 Day One

  • Getting There: The networking drinks are onsite at Southbank Institute of Technology so after the Tourism Futures Forums close, follow the signs downstairs to level 1.
  • Inclusions: beer, wine, champagne, soft drink and juices.

If you haven't registered for a function and would like to come, head to the onsite registration desk and we can organise tickets for you.

Internet Access
Should you require internet onsite please ensure you have arranged this prior to arrival as Southbank Institute of Technology does not have the facility to provide attendee access to the Institute systems.

Conference Proceedings
Conference Proceedings will be available online 48 hours after the conference. Each delegate will receive access to the proceedings free of charge.
